The Fox Valley region and its surrounding communities are amenity-rich with great places to dine out, shop, and enjoy a wide array of cultural arts activities. Outstanding schools, beautiful neighborhoods, and year-round recreational opportunities are what make this a great community in which to live and work. Dreyer physicians and staff reside in the following communities: Schools: Prestigious schools dot the entire region. In addition to some of the best public, private, and parochial schools in the state, the area is also home to Marmion Military Academy and the renowned Illinois Math and Science Academy. Post-secondary institutions include several trade/technical schools, two community colleges (Waubonsee Community College and College of DuPage), two private liberal arts universities (Aurora University and North Central College of Naperville), as well as Northern Illinois University of DeKalb. The latter three also have strong graduate level study programs. Interactive Illinois Report Card Shopping: Millions of square feet are devoted to unique shopping experiences, including the Third Street shops in downtown Geneva, the Geneva Commons on Randall Road, Westfield/Fox Valley Shoppingtown in Aurora, as well as the Chicago Premium Outlet Mall on Aurora's far east side. Naperville's Riverwalk also offers great shopping in a cosmopolitan setting. Recreation: The beautiful Fox River flowing through Aurora, Batavia, Geneva, St. Charles, Oswego, and Yorkville offers many recreational opportunities for residents. The park districts host the annual Mid-America Canoe Race every spring. Water-skiing, kayaking, and fishing are enjoyed by many area families. An extensive shoreline trail system for bikers and hikers runs almost the entire length of the river through Kane County and also hooks up to the Illinois Prairie Path in DuPage County. Numerous Wisconsin lakes and ski resorts are just a few hours north of the area, one of the closest and most beautiful being a 7-mile long, spring-fed Lake Geneva. Thousands of acres have been preserved for green space and community parks. The Fox Valley Park District manages several fitness facilities as well as two water parks in Aurora. All three area hospitals - Delnor-Community Hospital, Provena Mercy Medical Center, and Rush-Copley Medical Center - offer state-of-the art fitness centers. Baseball fans flock to the Kane County Cougars' games every summer. The Pheasant Run Resort and Spa in St. Charles is a year-round resort with multiple family attractions. The region boasts several award-winning, tournament golf courses, including Stonebridge, White Eagle, Eagle Brook, Royal Fox, the Aurora and St. Charles Country Clubs, Cantigny, Wheaton's private Chicago Golf Club, and Orchard Valley, one of Chicago's top-ranked public courses. Worship: More than 500 houses of worship representing all denominations may be found throughout the Fox Valley, including such unique places as a Hindu temple, Jewish synagogue, mosque, and a Greek Orthodox congregation. Manufacturing and Industry: The rich manufacturing history so prevalent in the Fox Valley from the early 1900s into the 1960s continues today at the Caterpillar plant in Montgomery. Other national and international corporations that have more recently made their home in the Fox Valley include Toyota, the Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory , Hyundi, Kraft Foods, and Weyerhaeuser. The Eby-Brown Company and Old Second Bancorp are two locally-owned companies that have consistently appeared on Crain's Chicago Business annual lists. Entertainment and Cultural Events: Cultural and entertainment offerings include dozens of libraries and museums, such as SciTech, Blackberry Farm Historical Village, and the Batavia Depot, to name a few. Festivals are celebrated in many towns throughout the year, such as Geneva's Swedish Days and Festival of the Vine , and Naperville's Ribfest and Last Fling . "From the first call I had with Lee Meyer, Dreyer's physician recruiter, I felt like this was a place I could stay and practice my entire career. Now, after being here for several years, I feel even more strongly that this is true."Mary Gordon, D.O., Cardiology Joined Dreyer in 2005 |

"I am starting my 20th year here at the Clinic and was one of the first female physicians hired. I really love that everyone is part of a big team that are all willing to help each other and the patients. This is what I looked for when I came out of residency - getting along with my partners and helping each other. We truly have the patients' care as our priority."Lorene Eckberg, M.D., Pediatrics Joined Dreyer in 1988 |

“I had previously trained in an excellent and modern institution under 20 different Otolaryngologists. To my pleasant surprise, Dreyer was technically far more advanced than any other medical practice I was aware of. The EMR system had been in use for several years at Dreyer, before most people even knew of its existence. Practices of billing, documentation, and prescriptions were also far more advanced. The administrative staff, as well as the physicians, take pride and make an effort to make sure that we stay at the cutting edge.” Ashok Jagasia, M.D., Ph.D., Otolaryngology Joined Dreyer in 2004 |

“What attracted me to Dreyer was the commitment to primary care and the way the Dreyer physicians all felt a sense of ownership of their clinics. The doctors didn’t feel like employees, but partners with administration and continually stated how supported they felt in their day to day clinic operations. Having only been here a short time, the folks at Dreyer have made me feel welcome and have helped me establish my practice every step of the way. It is very easy to see myself remaining with Dreyer Medical Clinic for a long time to come.” Matthew Jennings, M.D., Family Medicine Joined Dreyer in 2007 |
